UMGC is weaved into my passion for lifelong learning.  My story with began in 1976 while stationed in Germany as an Airmen in the United States Air Force.  I continued my journey with UMGC volunteering and collaborating with many caring staff, alumni and academic philanthropists who encouraged me throughout my military and federal careers.  I am most grateful for UMGC being present in my life.  If you dream about it, UMGC can help you envision and achieve it!

It hardly seems possible that it's been 25 years since I served as the Alumni Association president. Memorable events included hosting delegates at the State House in Annapolis to inform and involve in our mission, coordinating the 50th anniversary celebration with our colleagues in Heidelburg, Germany, establishing connections with our alumni through a new website, participating in graduation ceremonies, mentoring students, increasing levels of giving, and so much more.

Since inception in 1990, membership to the UMGC Alumni Association is and will remain complimentary. To support this mission, the Alumni Assocation Fund was established to develop programming and benefits to advance and connect the now 307,000 global members of the alumni community.
