Current Selection

Join us for the May–July book selection, Wild Dark Shore by author Charlotte McConaghy.

On Shearwater, a remote island near Antarctica, Dominic Salt and his three children live in isolation as the last caretakers of the world’s largest seed bank. Once populated by scientists, the island has been abandoned as rising seas and violent storms take their toll. During the worst storm in memory, a woman named Rowan mysteriously washes ashore, barely alive, disrupting the family’s fragile routine.

As the Salts nurse Rowan back to health, her presence brings hope—and unease. As storms gather and tensions rise, they must decide whether they can trust each other enough to protect the precious seeds in their care and build something new before everything is lost.
