The Alumni Association collaborated with the UMGC Arts Program to commission artist – Ian Jackson - to produce a unique piece of art for the award recipients.
With a methodical rhythm of proofing and editing copper plates over extended periods of time, Mr. Jackson seeks to distill a contemplative stillness from depictions of everyday scenes. These art pieces offer an ordinary door that symbolize obstacles and opportunities presented every day. Doors the 2020 Alumni Award Recipients have no doubt encountered on their journeys while making a difference for others.
